Happy birthday, Grandma!

Today we celebrated my grandma’s 84th birthday at her house. We are lucky to live only a short hour and a half drive from her. We indulged in fajitas and Nothing Bundt Cakes, and visited with a lot of my family who got to meet Clementine for the first time.
Silas actually went to her house yesterday with my brother Geoff and they spent the evening fishing with my dad and uncle! Silas is getting to be a really good fisherman.

Silas spent the night at my grandma’s, whom he calls “mow mow” given she has lots of farm cats at her house. He made her a special birthday card this week where he practiced writing his letters and of course had to put cat stamps on it.
Brennan, Clementine and I had a night to ourselves and all got to sleep in until 7:30…woohoo! We hit the road this morning and she slept most of the way. While at Mow Mow’s, she had to take a nap in her carrier and did pretty good, especially since it was lunch time - the noisiest time of the day! She’s recently gotten a little bit of stranger danger so she wasn’t loving my family holding her, but she did let Mow Mow hold her for a little bit. Everyone says she looks just like me when I was a baby and I definitely see it! After having my husband’s literal twin first, it’s nice to have my own twin 😀

Silas had an eventful day today too. Started out fishing again, and ended with getting stung by a wasp! First on his head, then on his hand as he swatted it away. It was his first time being stung so I was freaking out a little considering we were a 30 minute drive from medical help, but he took it like a champ. Of course we had to do the vinegar and baking soda volcano on his hand. That plus ice cream cured him pretty quickly.
We’re driving home now and Silas was so tired he fell asleep within 10 minutes, but not before he made sure he had all of his toys in his lap!

Clementine struggled a little, but she’s finally asleep as well.
In world news, Israel bombed Iran today, with support from the US. I don’t know what this means for the future, but we have registered our trip with the state department and get frequent travel updates and alerts. So far, we are still on track to fly out Tuesday - right before storms hit DFW!
Thanks for reading today!
