Prosciutto Arugula Flatbread
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 15-18 minutes
Makes: 1 flatbread, approximately 12 slices
Ingredients
-
1 pound pizza dough
-
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour, for dusting
-
1 tablespoon olive oil
-
8 ounces mozzarella cheese, sliced fresh (not shredded)
-
½ cup ricotta cheese
-
2 ounces prosciutto
-
1 cup fresh arugula
-
2 tablespoons hot honey
Instructions
-
Place the pizza dough on a lightly floured work surface and allow it to rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes. This makes the dough easier to shape and helps it bake more evenly.
-
Position an oven rack in the center of the oven and preheat the oven to 475°F.
-
Stretch the dough by hand or roll it into a 12-inch circle or approximately 9-by-13-inch rectangle.
-
Lightly coat a pizza pan or baking sheet with olive oil. Transfer the shaped dough to the prepared pan.
-
Arrange the mozzarella evenly over the dough, then add small dollops of ricotta throughout the pizza.
-
Bake for 15-18 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbling, the edges are golden, and the bottom of the crust is lightly browned.
-
Remove the pizza from the oven and immediately top it with the prosciutto and fresh arugula.
-
Cut the pizza into 12 slices and finish with a generous drizzle of hot honey. Serve immediately.
Storage: Refrigerate leftover pizza in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze it for up to 1 month. Reheat refrigerated slices on a baking sheet in a 300°F oven for 5 to 7 minutes. Thaw frozen slices in the refrigerator or at room temperature before reheating.

Family Memory:
This is one of my favorite easy dishes for feeding a crowd. I like to use sourdough pizza dough from a local bakery for a little extra flavor and a crust that feels more special than standard store-bought dough. The salty prosciutto, creamy ricotta, peppery arugula, and drizzle of hot honey make it feel elevated, even though it comes together with very little effort. It’s an easy one to serve for a casual dinner with friends, a family gathering, or any night we want homemade pizza without making the dough ourselves.
